Disc Printing Includes up to 5 colors (cmyk + flood or PMS colors) offset or silkscreen printing. Offset printing uses a very fine line screen and creates beautiful, crisp picture discs. Especially good with photographs and art with color gradients! Silkscreening is good for solid-color art.
Films We produce film for your project to ensure the highest possible quality printing on disc & packaging.
Printed Proof Disc & Packaging Matchprints Printed Proof Disc - we set up the press an manufacture your disc, print it, and send to you for review. You can test/hear/play and see it and make certain it's right! For paper printing/printed packaging, we send color matchprints to check the colors & art. Proof Set is expressed to you. No need to return, it just needs your approval. Proofsets are provided for all quantity runs as part of our quality guarantee.
Replicated / Pressed discs- A metal master and one or more stampers are produced from your master disc. The main body of the disc is created by injection molding, using the stamper in the molding process to produce the pattern of pits and lands forms is the data. The metal layer is deposited and a protective coating as applied over the metalized data layer. Offset or silkscreen printing is done next. This type of manufacturing is used for large commercial runs of 1000 or more pieces.
Recordable Discs- Rather than use a custom stamper and a metalization step, these are made with a special layer that can be burned by desktop writers. Recordables are actually more expensive to manufacture than regular pressed discs, so you should use recordables only if you have a special need like frequently changing data or plan on doing really small runs at a time. If you specifically need recordable discs, we can provide you with custom offset printed recordables for you to burn yourself. We also manufacture full packaging for recordables, so your recordable title looks as fantastic as any of our pressed discs.
Mini discs are 8cm discs available round for CD & DVD. Business card, rectangular shapes, and other non-round discs are rarely asked for, for compatability reasons. We offer clear substrate discs instead. Discs are available with clear substrate out to the edge. The diameter of the disc is 120mm as normal, but a smaller (8cm) metalized area is applied, rather than the full 12cm metalized area. The physical size is a full 12cm, but the data content is that of a Mini CD or Mini DVD.
