First let's define a Midheight Traypak. Customous Traypakeous, variety midheight. Also known among highly trained musicians as Swagus Superiorus. Midheight traypacks are made with a full color, offset printed folder and a 5 inch tray clear tray. Let's start with the tray portion, that's simplest. It's a 5inch clear tray, glued on. There, that wasn't so custom, was it? Well, you actually can turn the tray sideway (no, they actually aren't square), you could do colored trays although the clear ones are typically more fun for artwork, and you might have several trays — but all in all, the 5 inch tray defines this beast.

Let's look closely at the folder portion. Ah, here's the customization part. You can vary these things:

• ~Number of panels (count the number of panels visible on one side)

• ~Size of panels (mnnn-hmmmn. Doesn't have to match the tray)
• ~Folding Configurations
  (like gatefolds or even more wild- SEE CROSS)
• ~Pockets (oh wow, get ready - we must have some 20+ variations of pockets already made, and special die cut pockets are not a big deal. Tube pockets, slot pockets, diagonal literature pockets, Wide Moon Pockets, Deep Thumbhole, Shallow Thumbhole, BusinessCard Slots....on and on)

• ~Booklets ( can we do booklets...any size. Stapled, folded, weird folding, gluing of, any shape)
• ~Paper Stock (We have fantastic ECO OPTIONS for paper stocks- SEE ECO TRAYPAKS with recycled stock (ahem, we mean really recycled) coated or uncoated, and FIBERBOARD traypaks in a brown texture, and thick or thin.
• ~Printing — cmyk, pantone colors, metallics, and soy inks. Want it black- we have a good 20+ variations on the best black too. Let us guide you.
• ~Bling Factor or Special Effects Printing (Spot UV GLoss, Embossing and Debossing, foils - YOU HAVE TO SEE FREEZEPOP), Glossy, Matte, Laminations and don't forget the die cuts windows and shapes, oh what fun we have)

Ok, so now you get it -- these are custom and should pretty much meet your every need and wish. (Hmmmn, haven't done one in chocolate yet. Any takers?)

Custom? Well, I guess you need to ask whether you're stuck with a part number, or whether you can vary anything.

Fully Printed? And one other really unique features that comes-with on ours, ours are fully printed. No- not just the front cover and the folded up panels...that's one side of the paper. We actually printed the reverse side of the paper for you - that's the visible area between the spines and behind any pockets. We've been doing traypaks for a long time and what we noticed was this this single feature- we call it PIPS (PRINTED INSIDE POCKETS AND SPINES) makes a huge difference in the look. it was what gave our traypaks that quality look. If you don't do pips, don't you think it kind of looks like white underwear sticking out? Jeez, colored boxers maybe if you're under 20, but white? Nah.

Proofing? What could possibly go wrong? I mean you saw it on your computer screen, right? Oh boy....that doesn't tell you anything about how it look off your screen. We include a matchprint /mockup delivered to your door - and the proofset has a test disc too. Wouldn't want to forget about proofing those, huh?

Well, actually no. But traypaks are definitely used for music releases quite a bit. We can also put a recordable disc in there for you, or a dvd 5, 9, or 10. We even do Flex DVDs now, that's pretty neat. Do these come in mini disc sizes? Kind of- they are a little hard for us to source but we have seen the trays before and as long as we can find the tray, we can make it. Consider a clear substrate disc too! Did we mention vinyl looks too? So many choices....

Traypaks are the premier choice of an album release and make jewelcases passe'. There really isn't any comparison other than height between these products. Jewelcases are generic cases with paper booklet inserts. They crack, they break, you can't do anything even remotely outside of the box because it is a box. With traypaks, you have a full spectrum canvas that you can create. It's continuously printed (that's our PIPS) with whatever inks and paper you specify, and you have an incredible amount of printing effects that you can do, and places you can stick things.
